Creative Base is a digital platform that connects Afro-descendant creatives, brands, and organizations.
Our goal is to facilitate the discovery of talents and the sharing of portfolios, promoting collaboration within the African creative economy and the diaspora.

2. What data we collect
We only collect data necessary to operate the platform and offer its features:
Registration data: name, email, country, creative category.
Contents and portfolios: texts, images, videos or other files voluntarily sent by users.
Technical data: IP address, browser type, language and session information (for statistical and security purposes).
Communications: messages exchanged through the platform or automatic emails (e.g.: login code).
We do not ask for or store sensitive data (ethnic origin, health, religion, etc.).
3. How we use the data
Data is processed for the following purposes:
Account creation and management (email authentication and token).
Presentation of the profile and assets published by the creative.
Platform improvement and usage statistics (aggregated and anonymous data).
Sending operational communications (for example, login code, account notifications or updates).
Compliance with legal obligations (e.g.: response to authority requests).
We do not use data for third-party advertising or sell personal information.
4. Legal basis for processing
Processing is carried out based on:
User consent (when creating account and sending content);
Execution of contract or pre-contractual measures (provision of Creative Base services);
Legitimate interest (product improvement and platform security).

Essential service providers for operation (hosting, email sending, file storage);
Institutional partners or public supports only in aggregated or anonymous format (never individual data).
All partners are subject to confidentiality and data protection clauses equivalent to ours.

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, loss or alteration.
Files and assets uploaded are public only when the creative voluntarily publishes them on their profile.
7. Retention time
Active account: while the user maintains the account.
Deleted account: personal data is deleted or anonymized within a maximum period of 30 days, except for legal retention obligations.
8. User rights
The user can, at any time:
Access their personal data;
Correct or update information;
Request account and associated data deletion;
Withdraw consent;
Request data portability.

We use strictly necessary cookies and anonymous performance cookies to measure platform usage.

10. Minors
Creative Base is not intended for minors under 16 years old.
If we discover that we have collected data from a minor without parental consent, we will immediately delete that information.

Some technical services (such as email servers or storage) may be located outside Cape Verde or the European Union, but they follow equivalent security standards and data protection contractual clauses.
